Coral Covey | Ethical Fine Art Jewellery

Description:

Each Coral Covey Jewellery piece is designed, created and hand-finished by the established Australian contemporary jeweller, Laura Deakin.

Holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours from Monash University and a Masters of Fine Art from the Munich Art Academy, Laura currently practices full time as a fine artist in her field of contemporary jewellery. With over two decades of professional experience, she creates for the love of making, taking pride in every aspect of her work and paying attention to each tiny detail.

With a deep understanding of her art form, coupled by her innate ability to capture the essence of a personal story each one-of-a-kind piece is expertly designed and hand-forged in her studio situated in the heritage listed Nicholas Building in Melbourne/Naarm.

Laura's practice is grounded in all ethical facets of jewellery making. From concept to design, material to creation; Laura ensures the entire process of production is not only environmentally sound, but also gives back to our community.

Here are some of these ways she ensures her workshop is a sustainable one:

  • She works with recycled and refined sterling silver, gold & platinum.
  • She chooses to work with conflict-free, heirloom and antique stones.
  • Her packaging only consists of natural materials – recycled paper/sustainable forested woods, cotton ribbon.
  • Her jewellery studio runs on 100% renewable energy.
  • She donates every month to our five chosen charities – see website for details.
  • She educates her clients on ethical jewellery practice and methodology.
