Nina Hamilton Photography | Documentary photographer for the adventurous at heart, Tasmania
I’m Nina, an award-winning documentary-style wedding and elopement photographer for couples who love wildly, joyously and honestly. I'm a visual story-teller for non-traditional lovers.
I love to connect with couples who approach their wedding day in a relaxed and thoughtful way that reflects their life, their style and their love. Every wedding story is different; you're unique and your relationship is as well. I want to tell your story in a way that feels true to you.
As an ambassador for Less Stuff More Meaning, I believe in a people-first approach to wedding photography; people, human connections and in-between moments first. The material details help tell the story, but they are not the most important part. I believe in collecting experiences rather than things, and I get excited about making images filled with meaning. In twenty years when the details are outdated, the flowers have wilted and all the food has been eaten, the most important thing you'll want to remember from your wedding day is the love, emotion and human connection. You'll want to look back on the day and feel the words spoken, the deep belly laughs, the safe embraces, the gentle kisses, the stolen glances, and hilarious and heart-warming speeches.
Because the real stuff is the really good stuff.
“Dearest Nina,We have just sat down in some quiet space together to look through your incredible photos again and relive that happier-than-we-could-imagine-day. There was a moment when I was standing looking at everyone from behind the microphone and I realised everyone else looked as happy as I felt and my mind went completely blank, like I was floating in the stars above the whole thing. I have continued to stretch that feeling into the days that have followed as we hear even the vendors had a ball and felt the love.
The photos are beautiful and full of love. The ones of my mum in particular have me in tears every time I see them - she looks happier and more beautiful than I’ve seen her in years. Our families love them too and everyone is raving about your talent. Thanks again for your care, enthusiasm and embrace of our day and our loved ones.
Warmest, warmest wishes.” (Louisa & Antoun).
"Thank you so much! We are SO HAPPY with our photos! Thank you for making a couple of awkward dorks feel so comfortable in front of a camera. Sorry we couldn’t stop giggling during the serious photos haha - it was impossible not to have fun! We are so pleased that we had you along to our special day and that you captured it all."
