If you’re worried that planning a wedding is going to be a really hard, expensive task then let us inspire you with this community lead, pot luck, mindful wedding!
The lovely Emily and Michaela were married last year at a community garden in the inner Northern suburb of Fitzroy with Celebrant Dee Wild, one of our Mindfully Wed Ambassadors. It was actually the garden where Emily worked as a city farmer and where they first met.
It was only natural that for bouquets they picked wild flowers and flowers from the garden as they walked to their ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, their friends created a custom vow to Emily and Michaela. They then hoisted the surprised but delighted couple up onto chairs and to a chorus of cheers and song, they were carried into married life.
What we loved about this wedding was that everybody had a part to play. Every guest was asked to bring something for the many shared tables, friends acted as bar staff, coordinators and more.
If you’re wondering why we’re not crediting any vendors here, it’s because friends were also the musicians, photographer, stylists and more.
Check out the wonderful images of this amazing day!
