“Maaaa”
She is there
Grunting with pain
As you entered the world
Swaying her hips on repeat
Cold feet tapping a tune
In the early morning light

“Mummmm”
She is there
Warning call for the school bus
Radar for school shoes
A Bandaid bandit
Heart’s space that grows

“Mummmm”
She is there
Can you put my phone on charge?
Pick me up after dark
Hold space when I ask
Be there on my terms
Let go but forever be there

Happy Mothers Day 2016

Amy Wilson.
